iTaskPro is an iPhone app that helps people to manage projects and tasks, to do lists, and so on. It is a mobile task management tool on the iPhone/iPod. iTaskLite is the free version of iTaskPro.
iTaskPro contains task management, category management, calendar view of tasks, notes for tasks, and synchronization with Outlook and iCal. The Sync feature is currently only available in iTaskPro.
You can hold the iTask icon on the iPhone for a few seconds, then you will see that the app icon is shaking and there is an "x" sign on the top right corner of the app. Please click on it, you will be asked if you want to remove the app, please select "Yes" to remove the app from your iPhone.

Due to the hardward limitation on iPod, some features are NOT available on iPod, such as "phone" type task, "recording" , "camera" etc. Since iPod doesn't have sound device and camera on the device.

iTaskPro For iCal is Mac application which helps to synchronize iCal data on Mac. iTaskPro requires iTaskPro For iCal to synchronize iCal data between iPhone and iCal on Mac.

Clicking on "Register" link on right top corner link, then provide an email address and the password you want to use. After the registration, an email will be sent to the email address used in registration. Inside confirmation email, there is activation link. After you purchase the iTaskPro license, if you have been using iTaskPro trial version, you do NOT need to uninstall iTaskPro and re-install it again. All you have to do is to sync from iTask on iPhone with Outlook or iCal. The trial version and paid version is identical, except trial version has limited 15 days temporary licensing.
A Category is used to group together similar tasks. An easier way to think of it is to treat a Category as a “project” that helps to better organize and manage related tasks.
The green icon means the task is finished. The yellow icon means the task is in progress. The red icon means the task is past the due date and is delayed.
To add a new task, simply select the plus sign ("+") on the top right corner of the task list screen. The user can click on the plus sign to add a new task.
In the task editing screen, there is the date/time section that shows the date/time range of the task. To set the date and time, the user clicks the section to go to the date/time editing screen. There is a date/time selector for the user to choose a date and time for the task.
The start date and end date are required for a task. The start time and end time are optional. The "All Day" flag in the date/time editing screen is to allow the user to select "date" only mode if there is no specific time required for the task.
By default, the repeatable flag of a task is "none." If the user wants to set the task to be a Repeatable Task, the user can click on the repeatable section in the task editing screen and select the proper frequency to repeat the task.
There is an optional field of "End Date" which allows the user to set the end date of a Repeatable Task. By setting the end date, the task will be stopped at that specific end date. If the "end date" is not set, the repeatable task will go on until the user manually sets the Repeatable Task to "none".

if you are using Firefox or safari browser, the installer file is "iTaskProForOutlook.exe" You can double-click the installer file to proceed through installation.
If you are using "Internet Explorer", you will download a set up file called "iTaskProSetup.exe" which is about 70k, then you can double-click it to run through the installation wizard to download the installation file automatically. During the installation, installer file will check the required system framework and library, if there is missing one, the installer will prompt the user to download them from Microsoft site first.
If installation is successful, you should see a button of "iTaskPro" with a blue logo on the Outlook toolbar. Also, you will have a program installed under : Start --- Programs ---- iTaskProForOutlook on the Windows program menu.If you click on it, you can change your password which is used in synchronization under the "Setting" tab.
If you see a bunch of gibberish characters when double-clicking on “iTaskProForOutlook.exe”, it means that your download isn’t complete. You downloaded a partial installer program.
Please follow the instructions on “how to download iTaskPro For Outlook” to re-download it. Please make sure to choose the "Save File" option than "Open With" option in the download pop up window, and save the file to your computer first for installation. We highly recommend you to use Firefox or Safari browsers instead of Internet Explorer browser if possible. There are some known issues with Internet Explorer browser to download some huge files.
Here are some common error messages and their solutions for iTaskPro For Outlook on Windows:
1. Error Message: “Component 2007 Microsoft Office Primary Interop Assemblies has failed to install with the following error message: Fatal error during installation The following components were not installed: Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Second Edition runtime”
Please choose 64bit version or x86 version based upon your desktop PC hardware type.
After downloading Microsoft system components and installing it. Please go back to the folder where you saved the installation file, there should be a file called "iTaskProForOutlook.exe", please click on it to run it again.
For iTaskPro For Outlook, you will see a message in the installation pop up windows, it says “installation is successful”. And if you open Outlook, you should see a toolbar button labeled “iTaskPro For Outlook” with a blue iTaskPro For Outlook logo. If you click on the "iTaskPro For Outlook" button on the Outlook tool bar, it will open a pop up window, there are tabs: About, Setting, Sync Setting, Tools, and Help. Also, there should be a program entry in : Start ---- Programs ---- iTaskPro For Outlook
For iTaskPro For iCal, after you decompress “iTaskForiCal.zip”, you will see the application “iTaskProForiCal”. If you open iTaskProForiCal, there are tabs: About, Setting, Sync Setting, Tools and Help.

If you run the installation and get the following error message:
"iTaskSyncForWindows.exe is not a valid Win32 application."
That indicated that you didn't download successfully. If you right-click the file of iTaskSyncForWindows.exe and choose "Properties", if the file size is not around 10.7m. That means that you didn't download the file successfully. Please re-download the file. After you download the file and save it to your computer, please check the file size and make sure it is around 10.7m.
iTaskPro For Outlook is an Outlook add-in program. If you have installed successfully on PC, but there is no "iTaskPro" button shown on Outlook toolbar. Please check the following:

2. If you are connecting iTune cable between iPhone and iTunes to sync, please disconnect usb cable. We have identified that iTunes on PC might interfere with iTaskPro For Outlook and disable it sometimes from Outlook.
3. If you are missing any of the entries except "iTaskProForOutlook" from program list, that means your computer is missing some system components from Microsoft. Please check on www.microsoft.com to find the appropriate component to install.
Most of time, it is due to missing "Microsoft office 2003/2007/2010 primary interop assemblies". The user needs to download and install that first to make the installation functional.

3. If you do have 4 entries mentioned in step 1, and you don't see "iTask Sync" button on the Outlook toolbar, you just need to enable the add-in for Outlook:
If you are using Outlook 2003, please do the following:
Outlook 2003---- "Tools" ---- "Option" ---- "Other" ----- "Advanced Options" ---- "COM add-ins", please check the entry of "iTaskPro for Outlook" and click on "OK".
If you are using Outlook 2007, please do the following:
Outlook 2007 --- "Tools" ---- "Trust Center" ---- "Add-ins", find the entry of "iTaskPro" and click on "GO' towards the bottom of the screen. It will open "COM add-in" screen, please check the entry of "iTaskPro for Outlook" and click on "OK"
If you are using Outlook 2010, please do the following:
Outlook 2010 --- "File" ---"Options" --- "Add-ins", it will list all the add-ins on the right side screen. Please see if "iTaskPro" is checked. If not, choose "COM Add-ins" from drop down box next to "Manage" under add-ins list, then locate "iTaskPro" and make sure the checkbox in front of it is checked. Then click "OK".
If "iTaskPro for Outlook" is listed in add-in list, but it couldn't be enabled even it is selected. Please click on Outlook "help" menu, click "About Microsoft Office Outlook", click "Disabled Items", if "iTaskPro for Outlook" is listed in disabled item list, please select it and click "Enable" to enable it again.
4. Re-open Outlook, there should be a button of "iTaskPro" with blue logo shown on Outlook toolbar.

For iTaskPro desktop program on Mac, you can double-click the installer file “iTaskForiCal.zip”. It will extract an application called “iTaskProForiCal”. If installation is successful, you should have a Mac application labeled "iTaskProForiCal". You can change the password which is used in synchronization under the "Setting" tab.
Currently, the Sync feature is used to synchronize the tasks between iTaskPro on the iPhone and iCal/Outlook. The feature is only available on iTaskPro.
There is a desktop program to be downloaded on Mac or on Windows. iTaskPro on iPhone will communicate with a desktop program to synchronize between the iPhone and Outlook/iCal.
The sync feature will merge the tasks from iPhone to iCal or Outlook or vice versa. It is two-way synchronization. It will merge the tasks between iPhone and Outlook/iCal based upon the last modified timestamp.
When synchronizing, the following fields: task name, task description, end date, priority, category, status will be synchronized between iTaskPro and iCal/Outlook.
To make sure the synchronization feature is functioning correctly, it will require:
--Latest version of iTaskPro on iPhone.
--WiFi environment where iPhone and host computer are connected to.
--iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCalis installed correctly on your PC or Mac
"Host Password" is optional field, you can leave it blank if you don't want to set it in syncing. The host password is privacy protection to allow only authorized iPhone/iPod device to connect to Outlook.
Here is how to set the host password in iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal.
For Windows PC, open “Outlook”, on toolbar, there is button labeled “iTaskPro” with blue logo, please click on "Setting", you can change it to a new password. If you set the password for synchronization, you don't need to re-set it every time you synchronize the tasks.
For Mac, upon launching “iTaskProForiCal”, you can click on "Setting" and change to the new password. You don’t have to re-set password every time you synchronize the tasks.
First of all, please make sure iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal is running on your computer. For Outlook, please make sure Outlook is running and "iTaskPro" appear on Outlook toolbar. For Mac, please make sure "iTaskProForiCal" is running.
Secondly, please make sure your local WiFi environment is working properly. And both iPhone and host computer are connecting to the same local network.
Prior to synchronization, you need to bind the device with the account in our system. Clicking on iTask on iPhone, click on "More", click on "Account Setting", please put in the email address and the password you created during registration and save it.
iPhone ----“iTask” --“--Sync”, you should see your computer name and IP. If not, please check the iPhone WiFi setting and make sure iPhone is connecting to the same local network where your host computer is connecting to, and please make sure port 12009 and 9050 are open if you are using any firewall software.
If network broadcasting feature is disabled in your place, such as campus, hotel etc. you can't see any computer name and its IP, you can click on "+" on the right top corner, it will allow you to put in the host computer IP address directly. Please obtain the IP address for the host computer on the bottom screen of iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal window. Please make sure you put in the correct IP address then proceed to "Start Sync" screen on iTask.
Clicking on your computer name and putting in the password set under "Setting" tab in iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal and click on “Start Sync”. The progress bar should indicate the progress of synchronization. And there should be a message to indicate synchronization is successful if everything is working properly.
If there is an error, please click on "Export Log" under "Tools" tab in "iTaskPro" on the PC or "Tools" tab under "iTaskForiCal" on the Mac, and attach the log file to: support@innov8tion.com or open a support ticket by logging into: www.innov8tion.com/customer/index.php for further help.
1.WiFi setting. please make sure iPhone WiFi setting is set correctly. Click on iPhone, click on "Setting", click on "WiFi", please make sure WiFi is set to "ON", and the wireless network is your local wifi network name.
2. Please make sure Outlook is running and "iTaskPro" appear on Outlook tool bar if you synchronize to Outlook.
3.Firewall and port opening.
Please make sure you have port 12009 and 9050 open to allow network communication between iPhone and host computer if you are using any firewall software. If you are using default windows firewall, iTaskPro For Outlook installer will automatically open those two ports. If you are using third party firewall software, please check their user manual to open those two ports. Port 9050 should be UDP type, port 12009 should be TCP type.
If you are using Windows default firewall on PC, please do the following:
Clicking on "Start" ---- "Control Panel" ------ "Widows Firewall" -----"Exception", in the exception list, please see if there is "iTaskPro", if there isn't, please click on "Add Port", and add the following two ports:

4. iTunes usb cable. Please disconnect iTunes usb cable when synchronizing between iTask on iPhone with iTaskPro For Outlook on the PC
Most of time, the syncing issue should be resolved with the steps mentioned above.
After checking everything mentioned above, the syncing is still not working. In iTaskPro For Outlook, there is a tab of "Tools". There is a button of "Export log file" on the bottom of screen. Clicking on the button, it will export a debugging log file. Please attach the debugging log file to: support@innov8tion.com. Please provide detailed information and steps you did, so our tech support staff can try to re-produce it and help you get the issue resolved.
Yes. The latest version of iTaskPro provides two-way sync. It will synchronize both ways between iPhone and Outlook/iCal. The tasks will be merged based upon modified timestamp.
"Reset iTask" feature will basically delete EVERYTHING in iTask and re-set everything to the initial state, basically starting from scratch. It is basically a "removal and re-installation". This will clean up all the exisitng data/setting on iTask without removing the app and re-installing the app.
If you click on "Sync" tab on the bottom of iTask on iPhone, you do not see your computer name shown in the next screen, please check the following first:
1. iPhone --- settings --- wifi, please make sure the wireless network name is your local wifi network name.
2. Please make sure Outlook is running and "iTaskPro" appears on Outlook toolbar
3. Please make sure the two ports are open in your firewall software if you are using firewall software on your host computer: 12009(TCP), 9050(UDP)
If your iPhone and PC are in the same local network and Outlook is running too, and the two ports are open in your firewall setting, you still do not see your host name. It might be some restriction on your local network to block the broadcasting feature. In public WiFi, campus, or some offices WiFi setting, the broadcasting feature is blocked by local network.
iTaskPro will provide another option to connect your iPhone and PC even the broadcasting feature is disabled on your local network. You can try our "peer-to-peer" connection feature.
In iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal, under the bottom of each tab in the application window, you should see an IP address and your computer name. After you click on "Sync" tab on the bottom of iTask on iphone, in the next screen if you do not see your computer name, please click on "+" on the top right corner and type in the IP address shown in iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal(On the bottom of program screen, the ip address of the desktop is shown). Then you can continue and go to the next screen to "Start Sync".
In iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal, under "Sync Setting" tab, by default, the radio button of "Do not sync the tasks in completed status" is selected and the tasks in completed status will NOT be syncronized. If you want to sync those tasks in completed, please select the radio button of "Sync the tasks in completed status" and click "Save", that will sync the tasks in completed status.
In iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal, under "Sync Setting" tab, there are two options you can set for sync.
Task sync options:
1. Sync the tasks in completed status or NOT. By default, "Do not sync the tasks in tasks in completed status" is selected, and the tasks in completed status will NOT be synched. If you want to sync those tasks, please select the radio button of "Sync the tasks in completed status", and the tasks in completed status will be synched.
2. Sync the tasks/calendar back up to X days from today. You can limit what tasks are synched. You can set to sync only the tasks which due dates are back up to X days from today. For example, if you put in "10" days, it will only sync the tasks which due dates are in last 10 days or after. So the user can better control what tasks they want to sync between iTask and host computer.
Calendar sync options:
1. On/off option for calendar sync. When "off" is selected, the calendar data will NOT be synchronized.
2. Sync calendar data back up to X days. By default, it will synchronize back up to 30 days. So it will synchronize the appointments data from last 30 days and after. Please be aware that inceasing the days of back up to will increase data processing data.
We have 99.9% supporting issues are Outlook related. We decided to create some diagnostic tools to help the users and our tech support to better analyze the issue on the user's computer.
Under "Tools" tab in iTaskPro For Outlook by clicking on "iTaskPro" button on Outlook tool bar, there is "Run Network Testing" tool to run network testing to make sure the port of 12009 is not used by other programs or blocked by firewall.
It will do a sync testing to see if the port for the communication between iPhone and host computer is used by another program. If you get an error message of "There is another program is using port 12009", you can find out what program is causing the problem under "Tools" tab in Outlook sync desktop program window, and stop that program which is disrupting the synchronization between iTask and the host computer. After you stop that program, you can sync again to see if the synchronization is ok.
Under "Tools", there is a button of "Export log file". If there is problem in synchronization, please click on that button and attach the log file to our tech support.
To fix the issue of "There is another program using the port 12009", you can find out what program is causing the problem under "Tools" tab in Outlook sync desktop program window, and stop that program which is disrupting the synchronization between iTask and the host computer.
After you stop that program, you can sync again to see if the synchronization is ok.
On iTask ---- More, there is a setting of "Account Setting", prior to syncing, the customer needs to set it to bind the device to the sync software in the system.
Click on iTask, Click on "More", click on "Account Setting", please put in the email address and the password set during registration and save it.
1. "Activation Failed". This is an indication of activation failed. Please make sure your internet connection is working properly and you can open browser to browse our web site: www.innov8tion.com/apps/itask/ Most of time, it is due to internet connection failed to connect to our server to perform activation checking.
2. "Sync Failed - please bind account". Please click on iTask ---- "More" --- "Account Setting" to put in the email address and the password set during registration and save it prior to syncing.
3. "Password is invalid". The password used in syncing isn't correct. You can always re-set the password for syncing under "Setting" tab in iTaskPro For Outlook or iTaskPro For iCal.
4.Syncing failed, what to check
Please make sure Outlook is running, and "iTaskPro" button appears on Outlook tool bar
Click on iPhone, click on "Settings", click on "WiFi", please make sure the wireless network name is the wirelss network name set in your local wireless router
Please make sure the following ports are open: 12009(TCP) and 9050(UDP)
Open "iTask" on iPhone, click on "More", click on "Account Setting", please make sure you put in correct email address and the password created during the registration, then click on "Save" button on the top right corner.
If everything is checked mentioned above, you still have a problem, please click on "iTaskPro" on Outlook tool bar, click on "Tools", click on "Export Log File" to attach the log fie for our tech support.
5. How to open the ports: 12009 and 9050 on PC if you are using Windows default firewall:
Windows XP and Vista: Click on "Start', click on "Control Panel", click on "Windows Firewall", click on "Exceptions" tab, click on "Add Port" on the bottom of the screen, please add the two ports as:

type: UDP
Save them, and restart your PC.
Windows 7: Click on "Start", click on "Control Panel", click on "Windows Firewall", click on "Advanced Setting", select "Inbound Rules", select "New Rule" on the right column, select "port" in the new rule wizard, click on "Next", select "TCP" type, select "Specific local port", and put in "12009", click on "Next", select "Private" and "Domain", name this rule as "itask1". Then repeat this step to add another new rule: "UDP" type, select "specific local port", and put in "9050", click on "Next", select "private" and "Domain", name this rule as "itask2".
6. "Fail to save the data" error message and the sync is incomplete:
Quit iTaskPro on iPhone, re-open it. Then try to sync it again.
If the issue is still persistent after the step described as above, please remove "iTaskPro" on iPhone, and re-install it again. After the reinstallation, open iTaskPro on iPhone, click "More"------"Account Setting", please type in the email address and the password you use to access our web site, then save it. Then try to sync again.
Quit iTaskPro on iPhone, re-open it. Then try to sync it again.
If the issue is still persistent after the step described as above, please remove "iTaskPro" on iPhone, and re-install it again. After the reinstallation, open iTaskPro on iPhone, click "More"------"Account Setting", please type in the email address and the password you use to access our web site, then save it. Then try to sync again.
iTaskPro allows the user to send an email with task info and its related notes as attachments.
The user can configure email setting in the "Email Setting" section under the "More" tab. The user can choose one email configuration for SMTP access from Yahoo Mail, Gmail, AOL Email, Mobile Me or "The Other".
The user simply puts in "user name" and "password" to set it up if it is in Yahoo Mail, Gmail, AOL Email or Mobile Me. Otherwise, the user will put in "SMTP Host", "Port" "User Name" and "Password" to set up SMTP mail access.
Clicking on "iTunes app" on iPhone, then click on "Update", then check to see if there is an entry of "iTask". If there is, please click on "iTask" to update it.
Click on "Download" tab to download the latest version of iTaskPro For iCal. Then decompress the file, you should have a Mac application called "iTaskProForiCal".
iTaskPro For Outlook is an Outlook add-in program. It will check if there is a new version available when you open Outlook each time.
