iTaskPro Outlook sync desktop program v2.6 is released!
The main improvements:
1. Address the update conflict due to incompatible microsoft system library on different version of Windows platform.
2. Calendar sync option. Allow the users to turn off calendar sync and allow the user to only synchronize calendar data back up to X days than to synchronize whole calendar. To run off calendar sync, please check the “off” option under “Sync Setting” — Calendar sync option in “iTask Sync” window.
How to update from previous version:
1. Upon opening Outlook, the Outlook sync desktop program will run auto-update to update directly first. It will download the update file and run through removing the older version and install the v2.6 version.

Additional testing and subsequent submission to Apple for approval.
We have patched the following issues in v2.0 Outlook sync desktop program.
Here is the summary:
1. Multiple task entries generated during synchronization in Outlook 2007. If you are using Outlook 2003, you won’t experience this issue at all. After numerous testing and research on Microsoft developer center, our developers identified that it is due to Outlook 2007 internal component issue. It won’t happen in Outlook 2007 every time you synchronize, but it will occur sometimes, especially recurring tasks with some tasks that are in completed status.
2. The issue of not deleting the tasks on iPhone if the tasks are deleted on Outlook task list during synchronization. Now if the tasks are deleted in Outlook task list, those will be deleted on iPhone as well. If you delete the tasks on iTaskPro, after synchronization, those tasks will be deleted on Outlook task list as well.
3. The issue of year 4000 after synchronization. This is due to no start date or end date is being specified. In outlook, it will be default to “year 4000″ by Outlook itself. If either “start date” or “end date” is missing, it will set the missing date with the existing date. If both “start date” and “end date” are missing, by default “today” is used for both.
The update is run by iTaskPro sync desktop auto-update process. If you open up your Outlook, the sync desktop program will try to check for the update. If there is a new update, it will auto-download and install the new version.
If there is a problem, auto-update isn’t running properly. You can also go to Customer Login and log in. After you log in, please click on the ”Download” tab to choose to download the latest Outlook sync desktop program. Please choose the “Save File” option than “Open With” option and save the file on your computer first. After the downloading is successful, please double-click the file to run the installation.

Regarding our v2.0 iTaskPro sync desktop program, we have received some customer’s supporting tickets regarding a very serious issue which would multiply some tasks from Outlook task list when syncing to iPhone.
We did numerous testing and some research on Microsoft developer center, and were able to identify the problem. It is related with Outlook 2007 internal component threading issue when handling concurrency. The multiple duplication issue doesn’t occur in Outlook 2003. We identified that it is due to internal change and inconsistency between Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003. Also the issue does not occur all the time, it only occurs with recurring task with some completed tasks sometimes. It is very complicated and tricky.
Special thanks to one of our customers, Mr. Chamberlain, who has provided us detailed information. So our engineers were able to reproduce the issue in our testing environment and got it fixed. We really appreciate that.
We are planning a sync desktop program emergency update for Outlook sync desktop program as soon as possible.
We are working on iTaskGC(Google Calendar Sync) update(the coming update version is v1.1). Unfortunately, we found out that Google doesn’t support task sync with Google Calendar. There is no API available to synchronize the tasks yet to Google Calendar.
In the coming update, we will add more polished daily view, weekly view and monthly view.
