iTaskPro v2.0 is coming!

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Finally, v2.0 is going to be submitted to Apple for approval!  It is going to be a major update from v1.1.  There are a lot of goodies in this major release:

  1. Reverse sync feature.  The reverse sync feature will synchronize the tasks on iCal/Outlook back to iTaskPro on iPhone! How sweet is that!  The synchronization feature will be true two-way synchronization.  If the tasks exists on both iTaskPro and iCal/Outlook, the iTaskPro will merge them based upon the last modified timestamp.
  2. Task view option in sync feature.  I hear ya.   Actually we had developed the synchronization under “Task View” at v1.0, during the beta testing, we had some user feedbacks to request “Calendar View”.   Then we re-programmed to synchronize the tasks under “Calendar View”.  After v1.0 launch, we heard different voices to request “Task View”.  Well, to make both sides happy, we decided to allow our beloved customers to choose which view they want to use in synchronization.  So there is going to be a “Sync Preference” setting of “Task View” and “Calendar View” .   Please be aware of, we don’t encourage you to switch between these two views back and forth.  The data could get corrupted due to the data format incompatibility underneath.  So please stay with one view if you could after “Sync Preference” is set.
  3. Integrating iPhone default contacts.  In v2.0, we integrated iPhone default contacts, so you can choose directly from them.
  4. Taking a picture directly as picture note.  In v2.0, you can directly take a picture as picture note than select from an existing one from the photo album.
  5. Adding “Overdue” icon.  In v2.0, we will group the overdue tasks under this icon to grab your attention in task list.
  6. iPod Touch support.  No need to say antying, right, folks?
  7. iTaskPro desktop program auto-update.  In v2.0, we added auto-update in iTaskPro desktop program, so in the future, if we decide to keep improving the desktop program, it will run auto-update when necessary.
  8. Updated FAQ.  In v2.0, we will make FAQ loaded from our web site, so you will get the latest one as soon as possible.
  9. Some GUI polishing.  in v2.0, we polished the sync screens and added more icons.
  10. Performance improvement.

Here are more details :iTaskPro v2.0.

iTaskPro 1.1 is launched

Friday, May 1st, 2009

iTaskPro is an iPhone app which serves as a task management tool on your iPhone.  It is a fun and simple tool to help people manage projects, tasks, to-do list and calendar on your iPhone.

We have tried a few to-do type of apps on iPhone and didn’t find anything that I feel happy with.  Well, we are geeks, right?  Roll up the sleeve and start coding!  We designed the initial flow in 2 days with a fantastic mockup tool called Balsamiq.  It was pretty good and I got a hang of it quickly.

Our goal is to develop the best task management tool on iPhone.

Here are some main features of iTaskPro:

  • Calendar view. View the tasks in calendar.
  • Synchronization.  Synchronize the tasks on iPhone to Outlook or iCal through our unique iTaskPro desktop program.
  • Voice and picture note.  Attach a voice or picture note to a task.
  • Repeatable task. Set up a repeatable task that occurs in certain frequencies.
  • Tagging.  Tag the keywords to a task for easier searching.
  • Sorting.  Sort the tasks with due date, status.
